A Call for Truth, Accountability, and Mental Health Care in the Wake of Recurring Tragedy
Michael Dublin, Green Party candidate for U.S. Senate in North Carolina and a co-chair of the Black Caucus of the North Carolina Green Party, called for full, transparent investigations and culturally competent mental health care in response to a recurring pattern of Black Americans found hanging from trees across the South. "The sight of a Black person hanging from a tree is not just a death. It is a reenactment. A reminder. A wound reopened," said Dublin.
